Youth FIRST Athletics · Photo and Video Release
Effective date: September 27, 2026
This page explains the photo and video question in the agreement a parent or guardian signs when an athlete joins (its section 6), what each answer does in the app, and how to change it.
The question
May Coach photograph or video your athlete during sessions and use those clips for marketing, social media, and promotion, without compensation?
Either answer is fine, and training is not affected. The answer is given at enrollment, on the signed agreement. Afterwards only a parent or guardian can change it, at any time, under Data & Privacy in the app. Coach can ask you for an answer but can never set one for you: the app's database refuses a change from anyone else.
Private is always private
Whatever your answer, the photos and videos in the app (highlight clips your family uploads, and the exercise demonstrations Coach uploads) are kept in private storage and served only through links that expire. A family's own clips are seen by that family and Coach. Nothing in the app's storage is ever openly addressable on the internet.
If you answer YES
Coach may photograph or video your athlete during sessions and use those clips for marketing, social media and promotion of the program, without compensation.
You may (never must) share a clip of your athlete to the squad highlight reel, which only people on our team can see. A shared clip shows there only once Coach approves it, and you can take it off the reel at any time.
A clip on the reel can also appear on your athlete's recruiting page, if you turn that page on and choose to show highlights there.
If you answer NO
Coach does not use photos or video of your athlete for marketing, social media or promotion.
No clip of your athlete can be shared to the squad highlight reel: the app refuses it.
Your family can still upload and watch private highlights, Coach's demonstration media still works, and nothing else in the app changes.
Changing your mind
Change the answer at any time under Data & Privacy. If Coach had asked you for an answer, the request records who answered and when.
Withdrawing a yes stops any new clip being shared to the reel, and Coach's use of new photos or video from then on. A clip already on the reel comes off when it is taken off the reel, by you from the clip itself or by Coach; the app reminds you of this when you withdraw.
We cannot recall copies anyone made while a clip or post was shared.
What this release is not
It is not permission for anyone else to use your child's image: we never sell or license photos or video.
